About Romance and Reality…
Bailey Barmettler
Business Founder, Certified Holistic Sex Educator,
Certified Somatic Sex Educator & Somatic Body Worker
I chose this work because it is meaningful to me, and because I couldn't find anyone offering it when I needed it most.
Having grown up in a highly abusive home, my nervous system knew only how to exist within the parameters of debilitating anxiety, depression, and complex PTSD. I did the work. I went to various forms of therapy. I studied psychology. I learned why I was the way I was — and still, something essential remained out of reach.
I spent years cycling through anxiety that no amount of understanding seemed to touch. I struggled to feel pleasure and suffered with anorgasmia (the inability to orgasm). I didn't realize how much trauma my soma — the soul of the body — was still carrying, until I discovered somatic education and awareness work.
While traditional talk therapy opened one door of understanding for me, walking through the door of somatic awareness transformed how I related to myself, my trauma, and the world around me.
I finally started living in alignment with my wisest self. I stopped reacting and started responding. I stopped surviving and started thriving. I left an abusive marriage, untangled years of codependency, and learned what boundaries felt like from the inside out — not as rules, but as a felt sense of self. I could finally thoroughly enjoy the pleasures of life.
That's when I knew what I was meant to do.
I went back to school and became the professional I once desperately searched for — someone who bridges the gap between traditional therapy, empowering education, and integrative somatic awareness practices.
I know what it feels like to be stuck, even when you're trying your hardest. To understand your trauma intellectually but still freeze or go numb, feeling like a stranger in your own body.
That disconnect doesn't mean you're broken.
It means your body hasn't been invited to integrate in the way it needs to.
That's what I'm here to help you with. Because on the other side of this work is a better quality of life. Where intimacy and sexuality feel safe. Where you respond to life from your wisest self instead of your most wounded parts.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to meet you! An initial 45-minute consultation is available for $25, which is then applied toward your first session if you choose to move forward. No commitment, no pressure, just a conversation.
